The Dead King Rising

Theme

The Dead King’s Rising is a platformer game project, made with phaser 3, as a part of ETPA student semestriel project. Based on the model of Super Mario Bros, it offers you the opportunity to discover a fantasy story through a landscape invaded by a ton of monsters, in a fantasy, medieval and horror mood not recommended to the youngest childs.

Synopsis

You play Thyrin, an ancient king of the kingdom of Mímameið, dead for 200 years. You wake up from your deadly sleep, confused by this sudden inexplicable resurrection. You will have to regain your last home, the castle, in order to find answers. However, you will encounter an army of undead, determined to prevent you in the accomplishment of your objectifs. You start your adventure in the cemetery and have to find a way out.

Gameplay

Based on the platformer Super Mario Bros, you will have the objectif to reach the right of the screen board until you encounter the boss of the level that you will have to defeat to access the next lvl. 

On your way, you will encounter several obstacles that you will have to overcome if you want to successfully progress in the level. Among these obstacles, you will find some different monsters that you can decide to dodge or to kill by jumping on them.

The particularity of the game is its interactive environnement. You will have to interact with it to find your way or some secrets hide in each level, and that offers you more of the story content. Be Careful, you will have to pay attention to your environnement, some traps can make your adventure more difficult.

Mouse controls

_ you can use your mouse and click on each write circle commands on the screen to execute all the features necessary to play and finish the game.

_ left circles for actions, and right circles for character movements.

Keyboard controls

_ press “ arrowLeft ” to move your character to the left ;

_ press “ arrowRight ” to move your character to the right ;

_ press “ arrowUp” to jump ;

_ press “ arrowDown” to interrupt jump ;

_ press “ I “ to show keyboard controls in game (not available on mobile version) ;

_ press “ A “ to throw bones to interact with some elements of the environnement to far for you (use score points)  (work in progress);

_ press “ E “ to heal your character of one life (use score points) ;

_ press “ P ” to pause the game ;

- press "D" to dash (not avaible in this first level);

- press "R" to interact (not avaible now)

_ press “ Ctrl “ to disable checkpoints and + “F5” to restart the game to the beginning (not available on mobile version).
